Sambar Cucumber seeds

These cucumbers are larger oblong or oval shaped and is usually cooked. The fruit develops orange stripes while ripen. The colour of fruit inside is white. These cucumbers are sweeter and tangy than normal green cucumbers. Rich in water and fiber. Conatains minerals like calcium,magnesium,potassium, vitamin A,C and B6.

Growing Instructions

Cucumbers need a lot of organic matter and steady supply of water with full sun for better crop. Fill the space where you like to grow cucumbers with lot of organic manure for several inches thick. Grow trellised plants 8 to 12 inches apart. Hills with one or two seedlings should be spaced about 3 feet apart, with rows 4 to 5 feet apart. When grown on open space, leave a space of 3 feet apart in all directions. Level the soil before sowing the seeds so that it can be watered evenly. After the vines develop runners and the first flowers appear, follow up with a side dressing of compost, aged manure, or organic fertilizer. If the leaves turn yellow it lacks nitrogen. More water and rich mineral produce a healthy fruit.
