Growing Instructions

Cluster beans is an upright plant with lateral branches plant which is drought resistant to some extent and needs direct sunlight. They are very sensitive to cold and should be grown during warmer climates. Deep, well-drained, sandy loams or sands are preferred, although some well drained alluvial clays and clay loams are also suitable. It is considered to be tolerant of both soil salinity and alkalinity. Fertilizers or organic manures are to be added before sowing. Sow the seeds directly about 1/2 inch deep and water the soil. Sow them at about 6-8 inches apart. They may grow from 1 to 3 meters tall. When maured after growth add them to the sides of the plant in soil. When grown in pots up to 2 to 3 plants can be grown. Even though it is drought resistant it grows very well with more watering and is susceptible to water logging. Harvesting in 60 days and above.
